GNX: Kendrick Lamar’s Latest Drop
Kendrick Lamar surprised the world on November 22nd by releasing his sixth album, GNX. The world responded by streaming the album 44.5 million times the first day. The only rapper with a Pulitzer price has had a crazy year battling back and forth with Drake.
The album artwork was created by Vlad Sepetov, the designer behind Kendrick Lamar's DAMN. It will be available on vinyl (standard and dodger blue) and CD starting March 1st, 2025, a significant date as hip-hop marks its 50th anniversary that same year. Kendrick is also scheduled to perform at the Super Bowl LIX halftime show, adding another highlight 2025.
The album features 12 tracks and runs for 44 minutes and 20 seconds, making it the shortest release in Kendrick’s career. The title refers to the Grand National Regal GNX. Only 547 models were made in 1987, all in black, and the GNX is often associated with "Black Excellence."
