Pre-order The Overview by Steve Wilson for a chance to join an exclusive album screening on March 13
On March 13th, Steve Wilson’s 8th studio album, “The Overview,” will be released.
Steve Wilson is hosting a screening of his new album, which will be accompanied by a full-length film that visually interprets the album's theme, on March 13. 3345 can give two tickets away for this screening. The theme of his new album revolves around the concept of the "overview effect," a cognitive shift reported by astronauts when viewing Earth from space. During the screening, Steve Wilson will be present and give a Q&A.
The Overview effect gives astronauts a new appreciation of planet Earth and perception of beauty, unexpected and even overwhelming emotion, and an increased sense of connection to other people and the Earth. Wilson invites listeners to explore the same themes of interconnectedness, fragility, and wonder. He creates a sound universe that mirrors this profound perspective by blending lush soundscapes, heartfelt lyrics, and impeccable production.
Steven Wilson began his music career in 1987 as the founder, lead singer, and guitarist of the progressive rock band Porcupine Tree. The band established itself as a significant force in the progressive rock scene with landmark albums such as In Absentia, Fear of a Blank Planet, and Deadwing.
In 2008, Wilson embarked on a successful solo career, blending diverse musical styles, including progressive rock, electronica, ambient, and jazz. Over the years, he has released seven critically acclaimed solo albums, such as The Raven That Refused to Sing and The Harmony Codex.
Beyond his solo work, Wilson has collaborated on projects like No-Man (with Tim Bowness) and Blackfield (with Aviv Geffen), exploring genres such as ambient, pop, and experimental music.
As a producer, Wilson has worked with bands like Opeth and Anathema, showcasing his expertise and craftsmanship in progressive rock and metal.
