Charlotte Adigery & Bolis Pupul - Mainland Madinina

Mainland Madinina is the new collaborative album from Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul, their first since the acclaimed Topical Dancer (2022).
A deeply personal exploration of grief, friendship, parenthood, family history and colonial legacy, the album finds the duo looking inwards while retaining the electronic intensity, sharp humour and unpredictable energy that define their sound.

Named after the places their families come from; mainland China, Hong Kong and Madinina, the Indigenous name for Martinique. The record explores questions of identity, belonging and the histories we inherit. Written in Ghent and Martinique, its songs move between intimate songwriting and dancefloor-ready electronic pop, creating space for vulnerability without losing their signature irreverence.

Once again working alongside Soulwax as mentors and co-producers, Charlotte Adigéry & Bolis Pupul have created a record about what we carry from the past, how we make sense of loss and the connections that bring us together.

Mainland Madinina is released via DEEWEE / Because Music.
