Bill Haley (1925–1981) was a pioneer in the emergence of rock and roll. He combined rhythm and blues with country to create a groundbreaking new sound. With his band “The Comets,” he scored huge hits such as “Rock Around the Clock,” “Shake, Rattle and Roll,” “Razzle-Dazzle,” and “See You Later, Alligator.” Haley’s music helped rock and roll become mainstream and laid the foundation for the revolution that followed.
