The Canadian progressive rock duo Crown Lands has steadily developed into one of the most ambitious modern voices in the genre, and in 2026 they return with their most demanding and fully realized work to date: Apocalypse. For this album, the band collaborated with renowned producers Nick Raskulinecz and David Bottrill (both known for their work with Rush), whose contrasting approaches shaped the creation of the record.
Conceptually, Apocalypse is designed as a complete narrative, consisting of two album sides and created with the classic album format in mind. It unfolds as a cohesive story set in the same universe as their 2023 album Fearless. The heart of the record is the 19-minute title track, an immersive epic that anchors the album both musically and narratively.
Ultimately, Apocalypse is about change—the end of one phase and the uncertain beginning of another. This theme resonates not only in the album’s science fiction storyline but also in Crown Lands’ own evolution. It presents a band fully in control of its vision and ready to push beyond every boundary it has previously set. The album is available as a limited CD edition, a neon yellow gatefold LP, and a digital release.
