There are no major surprises on Cale’s tenth album; fans get the same reliable, understated, and comforting sound they have come to expect. Subtle licks resonate on “Jailer” and “Low Rider.” “Lonesome Train” and “Shady Grove” meander along amiably in a hypnotic fashion. The closest thing to a surprise is “Digital Blues.” A wonderful album!
