Blood Incantation - Absolute Elsewhere

Absolute Elsewhere by Blood Incantation is unlike anything you’ve ever heard before. Few can so effortlessly lay claim to a sonic turning point as this quartet from Denver, Colorado. The album's two compositions span around 45 minutes and are as bewildering as they are captivating in their scale. They blend the '70s prog inclinations of Tangerine Dream (whose Thorsten Quaeschning appears on “The Stargate [Tablet II]”) with the deadly intensity of Morbid Angel. Blood Incantation had already proven themselves by perfecting progressive death metal with Hidden History of the Human Race in 2019, and then ventured into synth-driven soundscapes with Timewave Zero in 2022. Now, with Absolute Elsewhere—named after the mid-'70s prog collective (best known as a celestial pit stop for King Crimson drummer Bill Bruford)—Blood Incantation transcends genre entirely, writing a new language for extreme music.
