Charles Lloyd - Sangam & Friends

Sangam & Friends sees Charles Lloyd pay tribute to his dear friend and longtime collaborator Zakir Hussain. The album beautifully captures the profound musical bond between the legendary saxophonist and flutist and the master tabla player, joined by drummer Eric Harland, who completes the Sangam trio. Built around studio recordings from 2009 that were originally intended for an unfinished album, Sangam & Friends also features collaborations with vocalist Vijay Prakash, Rakesh Chaurasia on bansuri, Sabir Khan on sarangi, Ranjit Barot on keyboards, and Niladri Kumar on sitar.
