Info
While hitchhiking across the U.S., Charley Crockett became familiar with street life at a young age, following in the footsteps of his ancestor and American folk hero Davy Crockett, who was known for his wild life on the American frontier. After traveling through France and North Africa, he returned to his home state of Texas, where he began writing songs and recording albums.
Lonesome As A Shadow is his third album, recorded in Memphis at the legendary Sam Phillips Recording Service studio with producer/engineer Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price) at the helm. With The Blue Drifters as his backing band, the album was recorded live to tape during a year in which he was almost constantly on the road. The result is a musical gumbo that highlights the various depths of Crockett’s sound.
