Lee Perry - Africa's Blood

After its release in 1971, Africa's Blood was the first record that Lee “Scratch” Perry released under his own name, although his band The Upsetters appears on most of the tracks. If there’s an album that provides a clear picture of what was happening in Jamaican music in the early ’70s, Africa's Blood is the one. There is an unmistakable influence of contemporary American R&B, yet Perry’s signature dub and reggae fusion shine through. Africa's Blood is available on black vinyl.
