1997 re-issue. He's been around for centuries and has a discography the length of the country he is living in. Meet Helge Tømmervåg from Norway. Most people know him only by his artist name: Mind over MIDI. Instead of the capital Oslo, Tømmervåg resides in Kristianssund, a tiny city near the west coast. Since his techno excursions in the late nineties, Mind over MIDI has been a trustworthy beacon in the icey seas of Nordic techno and ambient. Nowadays, many of his records are extremely hard to find. So, this re-release of an early single on Utrecht based SoHaSo comes as a real treat. Artic Beats 2 originally came out in 1997 and contains four killer tracks which tick all the boxes for techno lovers: mysterious, melancholic music with subzero melodies and razor-sharp, frost bitten hi hats. DJs will head straight for the pulsating trip that forms 'Do You Want This Body', while lovers of ice-cold moods head over to closer 'Dry Cool Place', which makes you wanna book a hotel room in the famous artic circle hotel straight away. Essential release for all those who take Nordic techno seriously.
