The Mars Volta - Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business

The Mars Volta announce their latest album, Lucro Sucio; Unfinished Business, their first official live release since Scabdates in 2005. This new album is far from a straightforward live rendition of their most recent studio album, Lucro Sucio; Los Ojos del Vacío. Instead, it offers an in-depth reinterpretation of the source material, with an additional twist: the band invited fans to take part in the album’s creation process.

The project began with a cryptic countdown timer on The Mars Volta’s official website, which revealed an interactive voting mechanism allowing fans to choose which live performances would be included on the album. Each song was represented by a cryptic symbol corresponding to the city where the performance was recorded during the band’s acclaimed 2025 fall tour.
