Wolves In The Throne Room - Estuary

For more than twenty years, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM have been among the most influential representatives of American black metal. Their new album, Estuary, underscores their long-standing commitment to analog production techniques and classic studio processes.

Even after more than two decades, these pioneers of Cascadian black metal firmly refuse to repeat themselves or rest on their laurels. On the contrary, Estuary is their most dynamic and stylistically diverse album to date.

With their deep connection to nature, WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM follow a path of their own, far removed from the mainstream trends of today’s music scene. Powerful percussion and brooding gothic guitars break through any sense of stagnation, giving the album a palpable sense of dynamism.

Rich in alchemical and archetypal imagery, the album explores the transition from decay to renewal and the rediscovery of primal forces.

Most of the album was produced and recorded at the band’s own Owl Lodge Studio in Olympia, Washington. The drum tracks were recorded under the direction of Nicholas Wilbur at The Unknown, a converted former church in Anacortes, Washington.
